Folk tales for the Holiday season

Pravljicni Prazniki 2

Virtual acquaintance with world fairy tales: International Lithuanian, Finnish, Czech and Slovenian – NAPLE sisterhood Christmas campaign

When the days gets short and dark and the cosiness of home invites us to spend the time indoors, it’s time for fairy tales. We invited our sister libraries from Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Finland to join the project. We have prepared a virtual exchange of fairy tales for children. Every week in December, a folk tale from one country will be published on the library’s website, Youtube channel and FB page. It will be interesting to compare how many similarities or differences there are in our folk tales.

The first is a local folk tale The Dwarves of Lubnik, written by Lojze Zupanc. It was recorded in Škopar’s house in the castle garden, created by Karla Berčič Rihtaršič, storyteller and craftswoman.
