Cooperation with our sister libraries opens up new horizons for us librarians and also our users, connecting us at common points and showcasing good practices that we can also incorporate into our own work.
Looking back over these eleven years of collaboration within the NAPLE SISTER LIBRARIES community, we find that we are one of the most active libraries in the European space, having carried out more than 20 exchange projects involving exhibitions, recipes, fairy tales, and letters with our three sister libraries from Lithuania, Finland, and the Czech Republic. We are also pleased to announce that representatives from two of these libraries will be visiting us this year. We will present our town and its surroundings to them, they will attend the Škofja Loka Passion Play, and we will also discuss our profession and our work across various areas of community engagement.
We also present two exhibitions of children and youth, which are also available in our online gallery as part of the exchange:
We sent a photographic exhibition to Lithuania by Urban Babnik, an amateur photographer who has been exploring the world through the lens of his camera for many years. With artistic talent and a keen sense for the moment, he creates images that make us pause and see the city differently, more attentively and with greater sensitivity.
